Presents... Enterprise NCC-1701 Here are images of the original mock up that was used for making the steel tools for the Polar Lights Star Trek model kit. The mock up in these images is 1.5 to 1 to the final model making the kit at 3/4 the size show here. Enjoy!

Top View The mock up is held together with rubber bands.

Neck Connection

Neck Connection The nice tight fit of the saucer to the neck.

Secondary Hull The secondary hull two main halves.

Secondary Hull The starboard secondary hull halve has the forward cap, assembled engine pylons and hanger door test fitted.

Engine Pylons The two halve assembly makes it easy for the modeler to install wiring to light his model if he chooses. The assembly of these parts also make alignment of the engines with the rest of the ship 'idiot-proof'. (Hopefully, but there are always exceptions!)

Pilot Deflector The large pilot version deflector dish.

Production Deflector The smaller production version deflector dish.

Engine Domes On the left is the Pilot version engine dome. The center is the fan assembly dome that will be behind either of the two clear domes. The Production dome is on the right.

Engine Loops Top is the Pilot version, the middle is the loop that attaches inside of the channel running along the inboard halves of the engines, and the bottom one is the Production version. The top and bottom loops attach to the tops of the aft ends of the engines.

Pilot Nacelle The kit will also have nacelle version options. Shown here is the pilot version with a smooth recessed channel running the length. (Note the Production version end cap attached.) There will also be three sets of rear caps to choose from!

Production Nacelle This nacelle has a grill pattern and raised ribs in the recessed panel running the length of the nacelle.
